Crowns

A dental crown preserves the functionality of a compromised tooth while maintaining or improving its natural aesthetic appearance. Whether used to restore a damaged tooth or replace an existing crown, our custom restorations are made using only the highest quality material to guarantee beautiful, long-lasting results for our general and cosmetic dentistry patients.

A dental crown offers you the ability to chew comfortably, knowing that your damaged tooth below the crown (cap) will not crack or decay, which can lead to tooth loss. The cap, in fact, protects the natural tooth and covers up any aesthetic irregularities, restoring both the functionality and appearance of your teeth.

Your dental crown treatment is fairly simple. The doctors will prepare the natural tooth for the crown. They will then take a molded impression of the tooth to their in-office, state of the art dental lab, where your permanent crown is created. In the meantime, you will be sent home with a temporary crown. Once your permanent crown is complete, it is cemented over the natural tooth where it will stay in place for many years to come. The longevity of a crown depends on many factors, including oral hygiene, however most dental crowns can last 10 to 15 years and very often much longer.
